OUR STORY

After a few beers in the garage, we had an epiphany. We wanted to turn our love for coastal living into something more. With the knowledge of local interior designer (Tyler's girlfriend), we set out to create handcrafted wooden surfboard décor that would bring that same coastal charm to everyday homes, without the hefty price tag.
 

Since October 2022, we've been honing our skills and learning the ins and outs of creating these unique pieces. We've had our fair share of trial and error, experimenting with different templates, finishes, and techniques. But through perseverance and dedication, we've reached a point where we're proud of the product we're offering, and we relaunched in late Spring 2023.

Our team may have started with basic woodworking skills, but we've since grown to master the process. Each board we create is a labor of love, handmade from a 4x8 sheet of plywood, ensuring that no two boards are exactly alike.

Seeing our surfboard wall hangings in our clients' homes is our favorite part of this journey. We take pride in knowing that our creations bring that coastal vibe to any space they adorn.

Through experimentation, we discovered that epoxy resin provides the perfect finish for our boards. While it may be more expensive, it adds a stunning shine and protects the surfboard against various elements.

 

We believe our product brings a burst of coastal charm to any home or business. The versatility of our designs allows us to create custom boards for schools, businesses, or even personalized names, with patterns that suit a variety of tastes.

Our dream is to grow the Boneyard brand into a full-time endeavor. With our team's combined strengths, we aspire to create new products and services that will not only cater to Charleston but also expand our reach to bring coastal inspiration to homes beyond our shores.
